Living Room Day!

Guess what? I actually made more than minimal progress today! I'm so excited.

The living room has been horrible. The laundry monster had intimidated me so much that I'd given up working on anything else in there. Today I finally just stuck all of the laundry into baskets to get it off the couch and out of the living room. Yes, I still need to fold about half of it and put all of it away, but it's not on my couch any more, and that's an improvement.

After that, I spent quite a long time picking up items that were not in their correct homes and returning them to where they should be living. Quite a bit of stuff found a home in the garbage can.

After stuff was picked up and put away, I was able to vacuum. Now, I hate vacuuming. I especially hate the sound. That roar drives me batty. Yes, I realize that I am weird and possibly crazy. However, I worked through it today. I made myself vacuum today despite the noise, and the floor looks much better.

(Maybe my experiment for next month should be to engage in an activity that you either hate or fear. Will we hate or fear it less with more exposure to it? Actually, I probably will save that for some month besides December. December should be something fun.)

  1. Indeed. The holiday season is definitely not one to be doing something one fears or hates.

I'm sensitive to noise as well. The vacuum doesn't bother me so much, but there are a lot of daily noises that overwhelm me and I can not tolerate.
