November 8: Kitchen

One week down so now we're back to the kitchen. I did not tackle any particular big project in there, but I did make some progress in general cleaning. Next week I hope to tackle either the fridge or the pantry. It would be nice to have them organized before the holidays start since I will be doing much cooking and baking.

Speaking of cooking and baking, I still need to decide on a menu for Thanksgiving! I know we will have turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, peas, and cranberry sauce. For dessert, pumpkin pie is a must, although I am contemplating making a pumpkin cheesecake instead. Hmmm...maybe both. Other than that, I'm not sure.

My dear blog readers, what kinds of foods do you traditionally have on Thanksgiving? Or are you from a country that either doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving or celebrates it at a different time of year?

PS
Don't forget about the giveaway I'm having! If you can't remember how you found my blog or just think it's too boring for words, please feel free to leave a comment on the giveaway post making up a fabulous fake way that you found my blog. Right now there are only two entries in the comments section so your odds of winning are quite fantastic.

  1. Cory (my hubby) doesn't like Turkey, so we typically either grill chicken and vegetables, or barbecue for Thanksgiving. A much smaller-than-usual Thanksgiving meal that works for us. Maybe it's a Texas thing.

  2. This year, I've been asked to do both turkey and ham. We keep it fairly traditional, though the last two years I did turkey enchiladas instead of the usual dinner.

  3. Turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, deviled eggs, rolls, corn, all the faves! :)

I make a pumpkin cheesecake every year! One of my Fall faves!
