Washington Photo Blog 6: Mt. Rainier

Green area
Our first stop on the trip to Rainier was at a station at the base of the mountain before we actually got into the National Park. We went on a tiny hike where we walked along a path through trees, over marshy area, and past this green area.

Above is what we saw at the end of the hike. There was also a meadow with picnic tables.

Then we headed to Sunrise which was breathtakingly beautiful. It didn't hurt that the weather was absolutely gorgeous-low 80s and sunny.

Lunching
I can't think of a better place to have lunch.

Picnic area
Here's more of the picnic area.

We took another little hike to see some vistas.

Ranier Vista
I am pretty sure this is the Emmons Glacier.

Before we left we went into the Visitor's Center. There's not much in there right now-just a little cafe, gift shop, and bookstore. They are in the process of renovating.
