What have I been doing lately?

I haven't been inspired to blog very much lately. Instead, here are some of the things I've been doing.

Joel
Joel had spring break so we spent some time together. He still worked full time, but when he was home, he wasn't spending ALL of his time studying. It was a nice break.

Thomas, pre-haircutThomas, post haircut

Thomas has been into everything lately. He's finally tall enough to reach things from all over and realizes it so I have to constantly watch to make sure he's not getting something he's not supposed to have. Plus, he LOVES to get on the computer. If you ever see a random "thomas" typed on my Facebook status or on my Twitter account, that's Thomas typing his name. Oh, and the boy got a haircut, thus the before and after photos shown above.

Kid & Cat

Gotta love this photo.

Zoe doing her baby crying face

Zoe has been a challenge lately. We've been really struggling to help her learn how to behave in the classroom and at home. She has constantly been getting trouble. In positive news, she got into the magnet school that she tested for in January. It won't be too many more months before she starts kindergarten!

(Here she is being silly doing her "baby crying" face. It's how she posed for the picture. Gotta love my funny girl.)

Container Garden Plants

We started a container garden-lettuce, spinach, cabbage, broccoli, bell peppers, tomatoes. (This photo was pre-planting.)Hopefully we'll have some lovely produce soon.

Gluten-Free Irish Soda Bread

I've been baking: Irish Soda Bread (seen above), cookies, ladyfingers, and more... I've probably been baking more than I should, but everything is so yummy. Oh, I also purchased a kitchen scale and have been trying to use weights in recipes instead of volume.

Start of Stripes

In the yarn department, I'm working on fingerless gloves for my friend Kelly. I'm farther along than this now, but it's been slow going. (She made me a cover for my KitchenAid mixer in exchange. I've had it for awhile now so I feel kind of bad that I'm not finished.)

I'll try to blog more extensively on some of this stuff soon.

  1. Ooh! Container garden! I'm curious how bell peppers do. The local farm here is selling some varieties and I want to pick a couple up to try and grow since we eat so many. Do you have any tips or a website/source to point to, by chance?

  2. I really don't know what I'm doing with my container gardening. I usually have a brown thumb so I'm just hoping not to kill all my plants. I'll try to blog about it some more soon.
